You just use the comic format better than many professionals : using close-ups to emphasize the emotion of the scene, or wide shots to give some sweep (first time the two are naked, first time we see the village.) using manga-inspired abstract backgrounds to give dynamism, cuteness. I was basically daydreaming about it.Īnd it has nothing to do with an excellent scenario, but only with proper writing and, mostly, an amazing mise-en-scène.
When I first read it (about 30 pages were out) I just got so attached to Ark and Cobb, transported by both their love and the fear their couple was doomed to never continue after the night. I never suspected that with such a simple story, a comic could move me so much. Thank you deeply for what you've accomplished here.
